Meet our qualified osteopaths

Sarah Stevens

Sarah Stevens qualified as an osteopath in 1997 after completing a four-year osteopathy degree at the European School of Osteopathy in Maidstone, Kent. She is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy (iO) and the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).

Committed to ongoing learning, Sarah has continued her studies and training with the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy, a postgraduate institution. She has successfully completed all nine modules of their learning pathway, earning the title of Fellow of the College.

In addition to her clinical work, Sarah is now a teacher at the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy. She specialises in teaching the Organs and Systems module, which focuses on treating the body’s organs and understanding how they function together. She has a particular interest in this area and enjoys the challenge of working with complex cases.

Abigail Smithson

Abigail was awarded a First-Class Master’s degree in Osteopathy from Leeds Beckett University in 2015. She is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.

After completing her degree, Abi returned to Gloucestershire, where she had first discovered osteopathy seven years earlier. As a passionate performing artist, she experienced a lower back injury, which led her to seek osteopathic treatment and ultimately inspired her career in the field.

Since beginning her studies in 2011, Abi has worked with individuals of all ages and physical abilities. She combines her excellent communication skills with her professional knowledge to successfully treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Abi is committed to ongoing professional development and continuously expands her expertise through specialised courses. She has recently completed training in post-partum treatment, electrotherapy, and is now certified in RockTape application. She looks forward to further enhancing her skills throughout her career as an osteopath.

Jonathan Lawrence

Jonathan graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 1985. He practises a wide range of techniques, from spinal and soft tissue manipulation to cranial techniques, which are particularly effective for treating babies and children.

His experience includes working with a professional football club (Maidstone United), treating professional dancers at Pineapple Dance Studios, and supporting patients with ME in North Devon. For 20 years, he successfully ran a practice in North Devon before recently relocating to Cheltenham to be closer to his family.

Jonathan has undertaken extensive postgraduate osteopathic training and has taught both undergraduates and postgraduates. He currently delivers courses for qualified practitioners and has written extensively for professional journals.

In addition to osteopathy, Jonathan is also qualified in Homotoxicology, a modern form of homeopathy.

He is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy. He is also affiliated with the Society of Homotoxicology and Anti-Homotoxic Therapy GB.
